Helicals Approved in City of Los Angeles by LARR

Los-Angeles

Ram Jack was recently issued its fabricator license number for specialty fabrication of helical anchors and capabilities of lightweight steel from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS). The 3 month application process was completed to obtain the manufacturing fabrication license. A representative from LADBS conducted an on-site inspection on trace ability, accountability, verification of the manufacturing facility and its processes. Our Quality Control Technicians were required to complete the American Welding Standards (AWS) test related to the fabrication of Ram Jack helical anchors. This stringent certification process further verified the quality, strength and workmanship of the products.

Ram Jack also renewed its Los Angeles Research Report (LARR) (RR 25909) which is based on the company’s International Code Council Evaluation Services (ICC-ES) Report (ESR-1854). Ram Jack’s original LARR was issued on August 1, 2011. The report allows Ram Jack’s helical and driven steel piles listed in ESR-1854 (2 7/8” and 3 1/2” diameter piles) to be installed within the city limits of Los Angeles for remedial and floor slab underpinning applications. Ram Jack’s remedial repair brackets can be used to underpin a variety of structures including residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Ram Jack’s testing and product strength calculations successfully met the ICC-ES acceptance criteria (AC358) and have been scrutinized and approved by ICC-ES and Building and Safety engineers with the city of Los Angeles. The renewal of Ram Jack’s LARR report also verifies the company’s product compliance with the 2010 CBC and 2011 LABC. According to the Los Angeles Building Department database, Ram Jack’s report appears to be the only one that has been certified to comply with the 2012 California Building Code. Contractors that use Ram Jack products will be able to receive permits much quicker and with less hassle in the city of Los Angeles.
